Father’s Day was celebrated early in the Pre-Prep with a hot breakfast served in the Forest School.  Sausages, bacon and eggs were cooked on the fire and then eaten by both fathers, mothers and the children.  The sun came out and a wonderful time was had by everyone.  Some parents thought that breakfast in Forest School should become a weekly event!

Year One stepped back in time recently when they went for a spin in two vintage cars.  They are learning about journeys in the past and found the early cars rather bumpy and draughty - but very exciting!

Visit by author Stewart Ross

dscf0949Famous author Stewart Ross visited the Pre-Prep today.  He captivated the imagination of the children by creating a story, with their enthusiastic contribution, about an ‘authorship’ that sailed from Blackpool and met a sea monster.  Luckily it had a happy ending when Tiny Thomas was rescued by Energetic Emily.

Year 1 learn about journeys

We had a visit from 4 children from the Prep school who learn english as an additional language. Peter, Daniel, Aldolfo and Pipe came to talk to us about the different journeys they have made. Peter and Pipe both live in Thailand. Daniel lives in Japan and has travelled to Tokyo. Adolfo lives in Spain and travelled to Mexico. The boys all spoke about different countries they have travelled to and how long it took. We all thought they were very brave to speak to us as Pipe has only been spSpeakingeaking english for 4 weeks!

Year 2 were pleased to welcome three Prep School pupils who come from Thailand.  They came to talk to the children about their country and delighted them with their writing, sense of humour and showed the children some lovely photographs.  The Year 2 children asked them questions and learnt how to say hello and goodbye in Thai.
